HOPE

Hope is such a delightful and delicious thing. It reaches deep inside a person, to calm and allay all previously held fears, distresses and anxieties.
Like your favourite fruit working its magic after a long hard day. At first bite, it is unbelievable and incredibly good. Quite hard to express this feeling with words. The complexity of emotions that play out when you get your first dose of hope.

One moment you’re biting the dust, the next, you find yourself wrapped in the warm embrace of euphoria, drinking from her bosom, this nectar called hope. You don’t know just how much you need it till that first drop touches your tongue and slides down your throat. And after that, you’re overcome by a ravenous hunger for more.

I believe humans were built to hope. Our capacity to be optimistic even in the face of total despair is uncanny. For a thousand depressing things life throws at us, we fight back with resilience. Trying to find this elixir called hope in the rough cracks and dark alleys.

What has been stealing or killing your hope lately? Is it so bleak and irreconcilable? Or do you need to take a step back and look up? Hope could be flying right in front of you like a butterfly that was once a caterpillar. Or a tree nesting hundreds of birds, that was once a seed. Whatever it takes, find hope and drink thirstily from her well like a sailor shipwrecked and lost on sea for days would.

I pray Hope stays close by on the darkest nights .
